Information You Submit
Names, phone numbers, or addresses entered in a search form are sent to the third-party provider that supplies the result service. Salinas Residents Directory does not keep a copy of those searches on its own servers. If you contact the operators, the message and contact details you choose to include are received so a reply can be sent.
Automatic Log Data
The hosting service may record standard technical data such as an IP address, browser type, pages viewed, and timestamps. That information is reviewed in aggregate for site health and traffic patterns. Cookies or similar tools may support basic analytics and, where used, advertising measurement.
How the Salinas Reference Uses Data
Technical information is used to operate the pages, find errors, understand general use, and improve the reference. Visitor lists are not sold, and individual user profiles are not built from the small amount of information available to the operators.
Outside Links and Search Providers
Pages link to Monterey County and California portals, court resources, libraries, archives, and third-party search tools. A linked provider's own privacy policy controls the information submitted there. Sponsored search results are supplied by a separate company and are governed by that company's terms and data practices.
Who Processes the Data
Hosting and technical service providers may handle ordinary server logs. Analytics or advertising partners may receive the automatic data described above when those services are active. Information is disclosed when a valid legal process requires it and is not otherwise shared as a visitor list.
Security and Retention
The pages use an encrypted connection, and server logs are retained only for the operational purposes that require them. There are no visitor accounts on this reference, so it does not hold a password or user profile to expose.
Visitors Under 18
The reference is intended for adults and is not directed to children. The operators do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If a minor's information has been sent through a contact message, ask for its deletion through the contact route.
California Data Rights
California's Consumer Privacy Act guidance, as amended, appears in Civil Code sections 1798.100 through 1798.199.100. Depending on the person and the covered business, rights can include access, correction, deletion, and opting out of sale or sharing. Salinas Residents Directory keeps very little information, so a request generally involves checking the contact mailbox and relevant server logs.
Use the Contact page to make a request. Public records held by California, Monterey County, or the City of Salinas are controlled by their custodians, not by this reference. A deletion request for an official record must go to the office that maintains it.
Policy Changes
Any revision will be posted on this page with the updated wording. Continued use after a change indicates acceptance of the revised policy.
